Emberfold Saga
★★★★★ 4.7
Emberfold Saga is the kind of RPG that respects your time. Battles are turn-based, the party management is deep without becoming a spreadsheet, and the whole campaign downloads once and then forgets the internet exists. We sank close to twenty hours in and never felt the story drag.
Combat rewards planning. Each character has a small but meaningful skill tree, and enemy weaknesses actually matter, so you can't just mash attack. The writing has a dry sense of humour that sneaks up on you between the dramatic beats.
If you're coming from console RPGs, the touch controls hold up surprisingly well. Menus are big and readable, and there's a one-handed layout for the bus.
